Blackfish – The End of SeaWorld? | Blogmas Day 12

So over the last few days I’ve been seeing a lot of reports about artists like Willie Nelson and the band Heart pulling out of scheduled shows at SeaWorld after watching ‘blackfish’.

I was curious to find out what ‘Blackfish’ was and why it was causing so many people to cancel SeaWorld shows..

Blackfish is a documentary that basically reveals what a disgraceful place SeaWorld really is, it reveals how little training the ‘trainers have’ how poorly the animals are treated as well as the awful story behind how the Whales came to be in SeaWorld, it also talks about the dangers of keeping Whales in captivity and reveals how SeaWorld have tried to cover up what really happened to the likes of Dawn Brancheau and the other trainers that have been killed by the Whales.

It’s a truly brilliant and eye opening documentary and I highly recommend that you all watch it. I rented it from iTunes for £3.95 and I’m so glad that I did!

I’ve never agreed with places like SeaWorld, the idea of keeping such a wonderful and majestic animal in a tank horrifies me.

I’m glad that artists like Willie Nelson are taking a stand against SeaWorld, maybe if more big name stars like him take a stand too then there’ll be justice at last for both the Whales and the deaths that SeaWorld tried to dismiss.

I don’t want to go off on a save the whales rant right now but I really did just want to say well done to Willis Nelson, Heart and Barenaked ladies to name just a few for cancelling their shows at SeaWorld.

The documentary ‘Blackfish’ directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite is available to download on iTunes and I imagine that you can find it on the internet to watch gratis too.

Have you seen Blackfish? What did you think? Do you think it’s a good thing that stars like Willie Nelson are cancelling their shows at SeaWorld? Comment down below or tweet me @MissCharlotteEm and let me know! xo

I watched ‘Blackfish’ for the fist time today and had to write a post of my own to express my feelings. I was shocked and heartbroken. I’m glad that many of the artists scheduled to perform there have taken a stand and pulled out, I would like to see the other two artists do the same if they have a heart.
