Answering Your Frequently Asked Questions!

In the spirit of changing things I’ve updated the pages at the top of my blog, I know that a lot of people don’t bother to read the pages tabs so I thought I’d share them as blog posts too for those of you who maybe want to know more about me and how to contact me etc but are too lazy to click the tabs!

This is from the ‘FAQ’ page, it just basically answers all of the questions I get asked frequently..

Where are you from?

North West England.

What do you write?

I write a lot of poetry and of course the word vomit that is my blog, and I’m also writing a novel that I hope to have finished really soon!

You’ve been telling us about your novel for years, when can we read it?!

Soon I promise! I don’t have an exact date yet but soon!

How long has your grandfather had Alzheimer’s?

He’s had Alzheimer’s for almost 5 years now.

What is your favourite type of music?

I don’t have a favourite type of music, I love all music, but don’t get me wrong I’m not one of those girls that tells you they’ll listen to any kind of music and then pulls a face when you offer them certain genres of music. I’m the girl with the Indian folk music in her most played list on Spotify, the girl that listens to the voices of Africa and didgeridoos with the best of them, the girl that plays Slayer’s Reign In Blood full blast at ungodly hours and then wakes up and mellows out with The Carter Family before throwing on some Pavarotti and then imagining a better world with John Lennon before giving you all a 21 Gun Salute with AC/DC because I’m always about to rock out to Dean Martin and Elvis with a Deadmau5. I cut about 500 words off that answer.. but you catch my drift..

You interviewed Boom Jinx, what was that like?!

Honestly that was one of the best interviews I’ve ever done, he was such a lovely guy and really down to earth and I just had so much fun interviewing him! It was just an added bonus that he has one of the best accents ever and also looks like a Norwegian George Clooney.. Just sayin’..

If you’d like to read that interview you can do so by clicking here.

If you had to pick one decade to live in for the rest of your life which would you pick?

I hate this question because I never know which one to choose but I get asked it so often that I had to include it in my FAQ’s.. I think if I had to pick one I’d say the 60’s because really who doesn’t want to be a part of the swinging 60’s?!

Do you prefer reading actual books or using an E-reader?

I love having bookshelves full of books but for comfort I do prefer reading on my Kindle, it’s comfortable to hold in pretty much every position and I’m able to adjust the font size because sometimes my eyesight isn’t all that great and I need to enlarge the print. I also like my Kindle because I have hundreds of books on there and it’s easy to keep adding to my collections, if I wake up in the middle of the night and thing ‘hey I want to read * insert book name here * I can look on the Kindle store and if they have it then I can start reading it instantly.

Why don’t you practice as a beautician any more?

The main reason I stopped is because I love writing a lot more than I loved being a beautician. I mean don’t get me wrong I liked being a beautician but I stopped working in salons because I never felt like I really belonged in that environment, I’ve always been a ‘natural’ girl. I don’t wear fake tan, false nails and actually I don’t really wear that much make up so the fact that it was almost a job requirement to do all of those things and fit in was hard for me.

I don’t live in the UK can you send me UK products if I give you the money for them?

Unfortunately not sorry, I don’t have a lot of free time to shop for other people and then post it all out. I’m sure you can find a lot of UK products online if you look though!

I want to start a blog, what should I write about?

Whatever you want to write about, pick things that mean something to you though because if you actually want to write about them then it shows in your posts, if you pick something to write about because you think that people will want to read it because it’s popular but it’s not something you like or believe in then it’ll show in your work and it might put people off reading your blog.

Blogger or WordPress?

WordPress! It’s easy to use and makes it a lot easier to connect and talk with your readers than Blogger does in my opinion.

Will you ever join Team YouTube?

I love watching YouTube videos but I don’t think I’ll ever make them, I’m not brave enough to sit down in front of a camera and talk.. although who knows maybe one day that’ll change, although I doubt it, I’m a writer first and foremost and that’s where my loyalties lie.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

There’s so many places it’s really hard to choose. If I had to make a top 5 places I’d like to go list it’d look like this

  1. South Africa

  2. Norway

  3. Australia

  4. Road trip across America

  5. Hawaii

Will you follow me on Twitter?

If you talk to me and I find you interesting then I’ll follow back but if you just keep tweeting me asking for a follow then I won’t.

That’s just a few FAQs, if you want to find out more about my blog and I then you can do so by clicking here to read my About page.

Honestly though the best way to learn about me is to read my blog and get to know me that way!

If you do have any questions that you can’t find answers to anywhere on my blog you can ask me using the box below and I’ll do my best to answer them!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and also for reading this page!
