Always Here – Poem

A few weeks ago I shared with you all a poem I wrote when somebody who means a lot to me lost somebody very dear to them and I wanted to help them and I didn’t know how, remember that? If you don’t it was called I’ll Help You Mend and you can read it by clicking here.

Anyway I mentioned in the intro to that poem that I’d written several poems whilst I was trying to figure out how to help him. It’s been overly requested to see more of that series so here’s another one.

This poem is called Always Here.

Your smile it disguises so very well
The fact that inside your mind is hell
Your eyes however they cannot hide
The pain you are feeling on the inside
You laugh you joke you play the part
But what great sadness lurks in your heart
I know why you are sad and so do they
Bravely with child you continue to play
But you don’t have to disguise
When tears fall silently from your eyes
Let them flow we’ll hold you near
You know that for you we will always be here
