A Year To Change My Life?

This post is going to be a bit nonsensical I guess and to be honest it’s probably more for myself than it is for you guys but maybe not it depends entirely on you I guess.

I’ve decided to set myself a sort of challenge..

If you’ve been on the internet for longer than 5 Minutes you will have heard of Shay Carl + The Shaytards! Hands up who just started singing the Nice Peter song? Just me? Awkward.. Anyway if you haven’t heard about them then welcome to 2014! Google is your friend, Google will tell you all about Shay Carl + The Shaytards.. Watch out for Bow-ners when you Google though! šŸ˜‰

Anyway this guy Shay makes funny videos on YouTube and decided on his 29th Birthday that he was going to make a video diary every day for the year up until his 30th Birthday.. he started by saying that he always wanted to be successful by the time he was 30, he wanted to completely improve his life to make a better life for his family. Long story short he made a video diary every day and turned his life around completely in that year, cut to 5 years later and Disney bought his company and he’s now worth a few hundred million dollars.. It’s just such a brilliant success story for such an amazing family.

I don’t aspire to be a multimillionaire, I’d like to be able to give my family a nice life where they want for nothing but I don’t aspire to be rich like Shay now is, however, I do aspire to be successful.

So I’m going to set myself a challenge to see how much I can change my life in a year! I’ve talked about this before I think but I’m serious now, one year on from today December 1st 2014 I want to be able to say that I’ve made things happen, that I’ve made changes in my life, positive changes.

A lot can happen in 365 days!

This is a bit of a lame post I guess but by publishing it for you all to see that means I’m committing to the challenge!

Like I said this post is more for me than anyone else, I do want to be able to give my family an amazing life and to do amazing things and well I feel like up until this point I’ve been drifting a little bit, but life’s short there’s no time to just drift and waste it, before you know you’ll be dead, and then what? If you do nothing with your life, what mark will you leave on this world?

I’m rambling, but yeah I’m setting myself the challenge to see just how much I can change my life in one year! The best part though? I’m taking you guys with me every step of the way!

Let’s do this!

Great goal! I’m in the process of preparing to make changes for the next year. There are a lot of things I’d like to change…overwhelmingly so.

How are you setting yourself up? I’ve downloaded a resources from Do What You Love and there are a couple of other planning tools I’m using. Which is not to say that I’m successful with them. I just know that I can’t quite do it on my own.

Honestly the only planning tools that i have are my whiteboard, some poster board and a notebook, i’ll have to check out Do What You Love though! I’ve just been mapping out where I’d like to be a year from now and what I think I need to do to get there. šŸ™‚

Thanks for commenting and good luck with your changes! Keep me posted on how it goes! šŸ™‚

Dang – I somehow posted twice. I hate logging in and not knowing if my comment posted or not. Sorry!

Susannah Conway usually offers an “Unraveling the Year” that I filled out last year and then promptly forgot about. *sigh*

Yay for change! I’m in the process of working out changes i want to make in 2015, and almost all of them are looking to be major changes.

What resources are you using to help you on your journey? I know that I’m not quite so good at going it alone. I’ve done a couple of planning things already, and I’ve downloaded a resources from Do What You Love For Life. I need to figure out how to stay on track and on top of it, though. My intentions are always good; my follow-through kinda sucks. *sigh*

Haha don’t worry about I have the same problem when commenting on other peoples stuff I get worried that it didn’t post so 9 times out of 10 I post twice haha.

This is the first time I’ve ever really sat down and said I’m going to change my life, I mean I’ve attempted to make changes in the past but it’s always been half hearted I guess because nothing’s ever stuck.

But learning about Shay Carl’s life and how he wanted to make it better for his family and went right ahead and did that in a year inspired me to think hey maybe I can do that!

He didn’t really seem to plan it much well certainly not on camera / for us to see but he made big changes happen by being serious about wanting to change and sticking to it even though it was hard at times and I like that.

I’ve got a whiteboard that I use to plan things on and I like making plans on poster board too like I’ll get pictures and quotes that inspire me and stuff that relates to where I want to go and as I make things change I’ll change the poster board around to reflect that until in the end it’s my life on there and not my inspiration šŸ™‚ is that narcissistic? Possibly, but it’s simple and hopefully effective šŸ™‚

I’ll definitely look into the resources you’ve mentioned though they sound interesting! And I really would love to hear how you’re getting on with your changes! šŸ™‚
