Oh my goodness I can’t believe that another year has come to an end.. The older I’m getting the quicker these years are going and I’m not entirely sure that I like it!
2014 was a strange year for me, it had some of the best moments of my entire life but it also saw me relapse into the worst case of depression I’ve had in years.
I feel like I learnt a lot in 2014 though but I wont bore you all with a list of what I learnt but I feel like it’s been one of those years where I’ll look back and say “Yeah that’s when it changed.”
Personally I’m quite proud of myself for actually surviving the year because there was definitely a few times when I very nearly chucked the proverbial towel in all together, it’s been really hard for me for various reasons but I made it through and I’m feeling better now.
The biggest lesson I learnt this year is something my Grandad has been telling me for years and it’s something I’ve actually had on my wrist for 5 years now.. “Nil Illegitimi Carborundum” Don’t let the bastards get you down. I guess the penny finally dropped this year. That’s pig Latin that my Grandad learnt at sea, I know it’s not ‘correct’ but it’s what he used to say so it means more to me that way.
Let’s talk about the positives though! I’ve been on some amazing adventures this year, New York with Jim being the most notable. It was the holiday of a life time and it’s definitely my biggest highlight of the year. I had the best time and I’m so grateful that I got to be there with my best friend and it was all amazing.
We had a fun little adventure in August too! Jim and I and a group of his friends went to London for South West Four festival, the festival was amazing and I finally got to see Deadmau5 live! We stayed in a fantastic apartment thanks to our friends and Citybase Apartments and the whole weekend was just ace!
I also became an Auntie for the second time in 2014 to Dexter! I now have two awesome Nephews and they’re really just the best! I’m definitely a very proud Auntie..
As well as all that I met and interviewed Boom Jinx, saw Dolly Parton & The Eagles live in Liverpool, interviewed a bunch of other super cool people for various things and just did a lot of pretty awesome stuff!
One final highlight of the year for me is definitely the amount of readers that I now have, it’s crazy to me that so many of you read my word vomit but it’s amazing and I’m grateful to each and every one of you.
I want to wish you all the best for 2015, I can’t wait to see what adventures we’ll have!
Thank you so much to everybody who supported me in their various ways throughout 2014, thank you so much to everybody who’s read my posts. I love you all millions!
Take care, stay safe and have a brilliant 2015!
